Donor heart to a recipient goes way off course when the van driver, seeing his girlfriend with another, tries to track her down, bringing the heart into one disastrous situation after another and its recipient to near demise.

SYNOPSIS:

Heart donor delivery to a transplant center gets entangled in one disaster after another. Daniel, the delivery paramedic, spots his girlfriend Vickie, a brilliant university student, in the arms of another woman, takes several paths way off his tightly-timed journey to find out what's going on. He needs to find out what's going on.

Unable to resist, he follows her car in his paramedic van through a succession of comic episodes that start with a gay pride rally. Daniel finally catches up with girlfriend Vickie and confronts her and her girlfriend at a gas station where an anti-transplantation priest steals the entire van with the heart rescue attempt lowering the heart out of a moving van and falling into the hands of two angry gay bikers and everntually to a snatch up by guard dogs; and nobody seems to be able to keep possession of the heart as Daniel struggles with each hurdle and conflict. The Cardiologist on the trip has to find ways to feed the Donor hospital and fitful Recipient hospital nonsense excuses for the delays. The delays become a major problem even at the recipient hospital, when the medical team sees the state of the almost unpacked heart. Daniel finally threatens the team with malfeasance if the refuse to do the transplant.

The operation proceeds. Vickie is tempted to abandon Daniel and run off with his paramedic van navigator, Jude, who is planning to go to Israel to live and has a mother who is pestering him by phone to pick up frozen chickens, which he eventually does with the van, using the frozen chickens to supplement the melting ice in the heart is as one doctor put it, is "dog meat." The pace quickens and the whole mission seems on the rocks. The recipient with the new heart recipient with a single, magnificent stroke of genius, using a TASER. In so doing, she also saves her relationship with Daniel.

They find a way back to one another when Daniel, his mission stress over, accepts Vickie's explanation of her short impromptu affair with her girlfriend as a premarital experiment and a social topic of university research.
