SYNOPSIS:

Élise, a 32-year-old nurse living in the city, is forced to return to her remote hometown following her mother’s sudden death. Hidden deep within a dense forest, the village of Saint-Roche appears frozen in time. Soon after her arrival, Élise learns that several villagers have vanished under disturbing circumstances, and whispers circulate of shadowy figures roaming the streets at night, figures that resemble the dead. While preparing her mother’s burial, Élise notices deeply unsettling details: freshly disturbed graves, bodies that appear eerily preserved, and townspeople who refuse to meet her gaze. Nightmarish visions begin to haunt her, reviving a childhood trauma she believed long buried. As she investigates further, Élise uncovers an ancient pagan ritual once performed to protect the village from death itself at the cost of a horrific sacrifice. When the dead begin to return to claim what they are owed, Élise realizes she was chosen long ago to complete the ritual. To survive, she must confront the truth about her family and decide how far she is willing to go to break the curse, or become its next guardian.
