THE SENTINEL

THE SENTINEL
By Oleg Mullayanov

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Drama
LOGLINE: After a shipwreck off the coast of North Sentinel Island, a close-knit group of friends and family washes up on a forbidden shore guarded by an ancient tribe that shows no mercy to outsiders. To survive, they’ll have to push through jungle, hunger, and the hunt — and face the most dangerous threat of all: the scars of their past, rising to the surface here faster than blood.

SYNOPSIS:

During a luxurious sea voyage, a group of friends and family find themselves stranded on a mysterious island that few KTT know about — the Northern Sentinel. After a violent storm, their yacht breaks down. At first, the place seems heavenly: white sand, tropical forests, quiet lagoons. But they soon realize that they are not alone here. The island holds a dark secret. An ancient tribe that has never had contact with the outside world lives in the dense jungle. Their leader is the wise but cruel Bomani, who sees the aliens as a threat to his people. However, there is a girl among the tribe, Amina (the chief's niece), who is kind and curious, and decides to help Dylan, the young son of the family, save his loved ones. A bond arises between them that will be both a salvation and a curse. Each episode opens up new sides of the island, from the ancient rituals and secrets of the tribe to the moral dilemmas between "civilized" people and those who live in harmony with nature. Gradually, the characters begin to realize that the island is not just a place — it is a living force capable of influencing their minds, fears and memories. They struggle for survival, trust, and salvation, but the deeper they delve into the mystery of Sentinel, the more they realize that the true monster is not always what lives in the jungle. Style: Cinematic and minimalist, driven by visuals rather than exposition. The story is told through action, silence, and imagery instead of explanations. The camera observes instead of judging. Dialogue is restrained and layered with subtext. Tone: Dark, tense, and emotionally heavy. A constant sense of danger and uncertainty. Hope exists, but it is fragile and always comes at a cost. The series keeps the audience uneasy rather than comfortable. Core feeling: Survival is not heroism — it’s a series of choices between bad and worse. Comparable Series (by feel) Lost — isolation, island mysteries, past trauma The Leftovers — silence, grief, existential tension The Last of Us — human relationships under survival pressure Yellowjackets — wilderness, fear, moral decay True Detective (Season 1) — atmosphere, philosophical weight, slow-burn suspense
