In May 1954, during the peak of the McCarthy Hearings, Wonder Comics Chief Barney Goldman capitalized on the opportunity to revamp Sgt. Eagle, a World War II superhero, is the character's first televised commercial, capitalizing on the wide viewership sensation of McCarthy TV. Hearings. Meanwhile, low-level letter Dan Smith takes the chance to write a comic script that will outshine his envious rival and old-guard senior writer, Tom Fox.
