To claim his inheritance, a slacker teen must become the very ninja hero from his grandfather’s failed comic book — whether he likes it or not.
SYNOPSIS:
Josh Parker was never the chosen one — not athletic, not gifted, and definitely not the grandkid who got the jazz scholarship. But when his dying grandfather — a Pulitzer-winning composer, secret war hero, and delusional creator of the failed Lance Stone: Music Ninja comic series — leaves him a single note reading “Earn it,” Josh is pulled into the weirdest coming-of-age story ever accidentally written.
To claim his inheritance, Josh must live out the plot of Lance Stone: enlist in the military, survive ninja boot camp, and hunt down villains inspired by Grandpa’s real-life enemies. Along the way, he’s mentored (and seduced) by a cougar entertainment lawyer, teamed with a washed-up B-movie director clinging to fame via his cross-dressing action franchise, and shadowed by a shady estate executor who may be blackmailing half of Hollywood.
As Josh slices, kicks, and wisecracks his way through pop stars, politicians, and corrupted cultural icons, he must decide: is he just acting out someone else's fantasy... or rewriting the ending to a legacy no one believed in — not even the man who started it?
