I am Petra Goedings, born in 1969 in the Netherlands. At the age of twenty, I co-founded Phanta Vision with J.P. Luijsterburg, a production company that has become a cornerstone of my career in film. Through Phanta Vision, I have produced and co-produced a diverse range of national and international feature films, including Morlang (2001), Vergeef Me (2001), Zwarte Zwanen (2004), Blind (2007), and Great Kills Road (2010). My work extends to international co-productions like Letter to America (2001), Investigation (2006), Windkracht 10: Koksijde Rescue (2006), and Dossier K. (2009). More recent projects include &ME and Leve Boerenliefde, both released in 2013, and Mi Vida (2019), a drama featuring Loes Luca and Elvira Mínguez.
My films have been showcased at film festivals worldwide, earning numerous awards and recognition. In 2007, I was honored as a Producer on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival, and I served as a jury member at the Netherlands Film Festival in 2008. From 2007 to 2011, I was a board member of the NVS, contributing to the Dutch film industry’s growth. I also took initiative in launching the digital platform Ximon, expanding access to quality films, and introduced the Producer Label while co-founding FilmOTech.
My passion for cinema runs in the family—my father, Pieter Goedings, was a prominent figure in the Dutch film scene, running The Movies cinema in Amsterdam and distributing classics like Die Blechtrommel and Paris, Texas. I share my expertise as a guest lecturer at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy, where I also serve on the advisory board. I am married, live in Amsterdam, and continue to produce films and audiovisual projects, driven by a deep commitment to storytelling and cultural innovation.
