I am Pippa Cross, a passionate English film and television producer with over four-decade career bringing bold and diverse stories to life. My journey began in 1980 at Granada Media (now ITV Studios), where I contributed to impactful projects like 28 Up, a groundbreaking documentary series. As Head of Granada Film, I oversaw the development of acclaimed films, including My Left Foot, which won two Academy Awards, The Hole, and Ghost World, which resonated with audiences for its quirky, authentic voice. Those early years honed my knack for identifying unique narratives that blend artistic depth with broad appeal.
In 2003, I co-founded CrossDay Productions with Janette Day, a venture that’s allowed me to explore an eclectic range of genres. From the emotionally gripping Shooting Dogs (2005), set during the Rwandan genocide, to the lighthearted yet empowering rom-com Chalet Girl (2011), and the visually stunning Desert Dancer (2015), I’ve produced films that challenge conventions while captivating audiences. My portfolio has been honored with eight BAFTA Awards and two Oscars, reflecting my commitment to excellence.
As a producer, I thrive on collaboration, working closely with writers, directors, and crews to transform visionary scripts into reality. My experience spans production logistics, creative development, and securing international partnerships, ensuring projects are both creatively fulfilling and financially viable. I’m mentoring emerging talent, serving as a BAFTA member, and have served on the UK Film Council board (2008–2012), where I helped shape the industry’s future.
I’m always eager to partner with creators who share my passion for storytelling that pushes boundaries. Whether you’re crafting a high-concept sci-fi series or an intimate indie drama, I bring expertise, hands-on support, and a global perspective to the table.
