About Avril

Avril David is a screenwriter who lives in northern Virginia. She was born and raised in Eastampton, NJ to Caribbean parents, through whom she was immersed in the worlds of folklore and lucid dreams, the subject of her TV pilot, Third Time. Avril has been writing for as long as she can remember in both personal and professional capacities, including at McKinsey & Company and the World Bank. She has been part of multiple creative projects, such as blogging for Forbes.com, co-authoring a book of interviews with female leaders at the United Nations, and serving as a researcher and content developer for an Austrian documentary film about a WWII conscientious objector. As a screenwriter, Avril loves to explore powerful, grounded themes while incorporating whimsical, surreal, and magical elements. After her first short screenplay, Too Soon, placed in several international screenwriting competitions, she developed more scripts that also received recognition, solidifying her ambition and dedication to screenwriting.
