Shot guerrilla-style in Accra, Ghana, the documentary offers an unfiltered and intimate look at the lives of Gifty, a resilient fruit vendor, and Chocolate, a charismatic barber. Their stories unfold across a single day, capturing moments of survival, humor, unspoken struggles and quiet triumph as they navigate the challenges of small-scale entrepreneurship.
The raw, observational style of Hustle brings viewers into Gifty and Chocolate’s world, where resilience and hard work are the foundations of survival. Filming guerrilla-style allowed us to remain immersed in the authenticity of the environment, capturing genuine encounters and the spontaneous beauty of daily life in Accra. Through personal narratives, interviews and vivid cinematography, the documentary seeks to celebrate not only the hustle but the human spirit that propels it.
Hustle was born out of a desire to elevate these everyday stories, shining a light on lives often unseen yet filled with strength, hope, and dignity.
