I’m Khaled Bassyouny — a reconstructive and plastic surgeon based in Switzerland, an author, and a passionate storyteller. My background is a blend of African-Egyptian heritage, multilingualism (I speak six languages), and a life shaped by deep personal challenges and a relentless drive to grow.
I wrote The Tongue Chains: A Stutterer’s Odyssey as both a memoir and a message. It’s the story of how I turned the pain of stuttering and early trauma into fuel for transformation. The novel is a deeply personal account of reclaiming identity and voice, and I’m currently adapting it into a screenplay for a film or series.
Beyond medicine and writing, i’m a professional american football player and coach and I’m committed to exploring how art, vulnerability, and storytelling can heal and connect us. Whether I’m in the operating room or behind the keyboard, I’m always driven by the same purpose: to give something meaningful to the world.
