About Mimi

Mimi began her filmmaking journey directing self-taught Super 8mm films before studying cinematography and editing. Inspired by history, she is writing a novel about the Vietnam War and was a 2020 nominee for the Allegra Johnson Award for Novelist through the UCLA Extension Writers' Program.

Her project, CHILDREN OF WAR, reached Finalist for the 2023 Carole Dorothy Joyce Grant. In 2024, it advanced to the Top 15 for Outstanding Screenplays and Shore Scripts, and placed Semifinalist in the Screencraft competition. It advanced to Quarterfinalist in Stowe Story Labs and Final Draft’s Big Break contest, competing against over 10,000 entries. The script reached #1 on Coverfly’s Red List for Thriller Short multiple times and remains in the Top 1% of all projects on the platform. For more details, visit childrenofwarfilm.org
