About Justin

From 2015 to 2023, I worked on NCIS: Los Angeles in roles ranging from set production assistant to staff writer, which honed my skills in both writing and production. In the production world I've worked on projects such as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Cake starring Jennifer Aniston, How To Get Away With Murder, Shameless, and Comedy Bang! Bang! My industry experience also includes being an executive assistant to Oscar nominated producer Andrew Sugerman and David Lynch's on set assistant for the Twin Peaks reboot.

With experience on both the production and writing sides, I excel at balancing creative vision with the practical aspects of bringing a story to life. In addition, I’ve developed and adapted several bestselling books into tv and film projects and have experience pitching to places like Lionsgate, Skydance, and Universal Television. My goal is always to make stories resonate with broader audiences. Whether you need a writer to collaborate on your project or bring your idea to life, a producer to bring a project to realization, or both, I am able to help take your ideas to the next level.

I am a Writers Guild of America West member and represented by Affirmative Entertainment, Original Artists, and Feig Finkel.

Writing scripts for assigned episodes, including scenes, dialogue, and action sequences. Revising scripts based on feedback from showrunner, producers, and network executives. Collaborating with the writers' room to "break" stories; outlining episodes, creating character arcs, and ensuring that the show's tone and structure are consistent across episodes. Pitching episode ideas, plot points, character developments, and creative story arcs during brainstorming sessions with other writers. Conducting research on real world topics or technical details and working with technical advisors like former NCIS agents and FBI consultants to ensure accuracy in storytelling. As a staff writer, I was involved in every phase of the production process for the episodes I wrote. This included working in prep, where I liaised with various departments such as set design, costume, props, stunts, production, and camera to ensure the showrunner’s vision was executed correctly. I collaborated with the director and key crew members during production meetings to address any script related questions and adjust for logistical considerations, ensuring each element was aligned with the episode’s creative intent. During production, I worked closely with the director and actors on set to ensure that the performances and scenes adhered to the script and the showrunner’s direction. This involved script changes as needed and ensuring continuity throughout filming. In post production, I was present for key stages like editing, sound mixing, and sound spotting. I collaborated with the post-production team to make sure the episode’s pacing, tone, and technical details (including sound effects and music) met the show’s high standards and followed the showrunner’s creative vision. This hands on involvement allowed me to oversee the episode from script to final delivery, ensuring it was ready for air.
