Mehul Philip is an emerging production designer and art director from India, with a formal education in Art Direction and Production Design from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India. His work spans a diverse range of short films and an indie feature, reflecting his deep-rooted passion for visual storytelling and world-building.
Mehul’s recent credits include serving as the Production Designer for Lady’s Finger, Awaidh Gatha, and Unau Hmel Hai—student films where his research-driven approach to design brought richly detailed environments to life. He also contributed as the Special Prop Maker on Parat 41⁰ Chya Margavar, and directed two shorts, A Knight at the Opera and Hard Reset. As an Assistant Director on the indie feature film Kidney. Mehul expanded his understanding of narrative structure and cinematic collaboration.
His creative philosophy emphasizes meticulous research, conceptual consistency, and visual integrity. Whether working in realism or surrealism, he believes that every element of design must serve the internal logic of the world being built.
