My name is Lucina Cuccio. I’m an Italian author, artist, and playwright. I created the ghost saga Assareto and the Wax Mirrors, a trilogy that blends mystery, romance, and the supernatural. The story has been published in Italy, translated into English, and adapted for stage performances held in the historic castles of Trentino.
The character of Assareto is inspired by a real person who lived in the 1600s. I discovered his story in an old book from 1914. In my trilogy, Assareto fights against evil and longs to return to the world of the living because he has fallen in love with the only person who can hear his voice: Maria, a young medical student. But the laws of the afterlife must not be broken… and Assareto dares to challenge them, for love.
I believe this saga, with its mysterious atmosphere and deep emotional resonance, holds strong potential for an international film or series adaptation.
