Started out as an actress, studying at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in high school, and at the Gene Frankel Theater Workshop when I stopped out of college for 6 months. Was a freelance theater critic for Back Stage newspaper for seven years. I've written a half dozen plays and I'm a member of the Dramatists Guild. I've also co-written four screenplays. I've published more than 60 award-winning books with translations of one or more titles into 35 languages. I starred in the short film, "She Tweets," that my husband Fred and I did for the 48 Hour Film Project. In college I wrote, directed, and edited three short films. Unique traits: I'm prolific with 66 award-winning books in a range of genres to my credit - nonfiction, fiction, poetry, illustrated children's books. My screenplays include three thrillers and a romcom. I published two one-act plays as books. One play is about the tragic and preventable hot car syndrome. I'm a criminologist/victimologist teaching college courses since my mid-twenties. I'm working on my first 15 minute documentary.
