Hi. My name is James C. Victor. I am an actor, writer, and private acting coach with over 30 years of experience in the industry and 20 years of coaching actors. Originally from New Jersey, I fell in love with acting at a young age, but it wasn't until I landed a small role in The World According to Garp alongside Robin Williams that I truly caught the acting bug. My big moment? Delivering the classic joke: 'What's the definition of brassiere? An over-the-shoulder boulder holder."
From there, I trained at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC, performing in many plays on- and off-Broadway before continuing my studies at USC’s conservatory BFA acting program. After graduating, I returned to the stage, starring in Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.
Shortly after returning to Los Angeles, I was cast in my first television appearance on the infamous series Cheers. I have since gone on to guest-star on numerous television shows, including recurring roles on the iconic “90210” and “24”. I have also appeared in many films such as Executive Decision, The Stanford Prison Experiment, and Twelve Years a Slave. As a writer, I have had several screenplays optioned. My first script, Somerville, reached the quarter-finals at The Academy Nicholl Fellowship screenwriting competition.
Today, I bring my passion for storytelling to both my performances and the craft of writing, and enjoy helping the next generation of actors find their voices and hone their craft..
