Joy Frelinghuysen writes dramas and dark comedies about people who wake up and fight to reclaim the parts of themselves they've lost or buried along the way. Her work explores the complexity of relationships with a tone that’s emotionally raw, honest and laced with humor. Joy began her storytelling career as a creative executive at Fox, contributing to films like Titanic, Great Expectations, and Hope Floats. She earned her MFA in Screenwriting from USC and her undergrad degree from Princeton. Her scripts have placed in multiple competitions, including the Page Awards, Screencraft, Launchpad and others. Recently, she embarked on a solo winter road trip through the American West. It was a personal odyssey, inspired by the themes she writes about - healing, risk and reinvention.
