By Ashraf Nahlous

GENRE: Family, Drama
LOGLINE:

After losing his wife in a tragic accident, a grieving single father struggles to hold his fractured family together while grappling with his own buried dreams and the sacrifices he made for a life he never chose.

SYNOPSIS:

John’s world crumbles when a car accident takes the life of his wife, leaving him a single father to three children: Josh, a rebellious teenage son; Emily, a defiant teenage daughter; and Chloe, a cheerful young girl who tries to bring light to their broken home. A year later, John is drowning in grief and pressure, unable to manage his family or his mounting responsibilities.

Josh drifts toward a dangerous gang, seeking validation that John is too consumed by guilt to provide. Emily, desperate for attention and affection, falls prey to the manipulative charm of an older man. Chloe clings to her innocence, unknowingly becoming the glue that holds the family together.

When tensions boil over, John’s frustration erupts in a shocking confession: he never wanted children. This revelation shatters what little connection remains in the family and forces each member to confront their own pain.

As Josh faces the gang’s violent retaliation and Emily edges closer to danger, John is driven to act. He puts his own life on the line to protect Josh, an act of sacrifice that leaves him wounded but offers a glimmer of redemption. In the aftermath, the family comes together, recognizing the depth of John’s sacrifices and their shared love despite the fractures.

With his children and sister’s encouragement, John begins to rebuild—not just his family, but himself. For the first time, he is free to pursue the dreams he set aside so long ago, stepping forward into a future shaped by hope, love, and resilience.

Broken Shoes is a powerful story of loss, redemption, and the enduring bonds of family. It explores the beauty and hardship of starting over when everything seems lost and the courage it takes to choose hope
