Self-taught, his passion started at a young age, leading him to embark on a journey into the world of filmmaking.
Throughout his career, Steve has honed his craft in various roles, including directing, cinematography, editing, writing and producing, enabling him to have a much more overall well-rounded approach. His eye for detail and a unique creative vision of being able to utilise the world around him have resulted in captivating films that leave a lasting impact on audiences. From emotionally charged narrative features to thought-provoking documentaries, Steve’s work showcases his versatility and utter dedication to his art.
Driven by his own experiences making a no-budget feature film, Steve recently created an online course, 'Adapt and Create', to help independent filmmakers overcome the obstacles of limited budgets and industry gatekeeping. Understanding the frustrations filmmakers face, he developed a streamlined, five-phase process to guide filmmakers step-by-step. This course provides the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to take control and bring their film visions to life—without waiting on industry approval or large-scale funding.

Director ‘Electrician’ is the debut feature film by English filmmaker Steve Conway. Made over a period of five years (2015-2020), without any budget and using mostly non-actors the film went on to win seven international awards and was nominated for a further twenty. It received its debut broadcast on UK television in November 2021 and has been shown on several occasions on UK television since. ‘Electrician’ continues to gain a global audience and is available to watch now on YouTube, Prime Video U.K, Prime Video U.S, Prime Video Japan, Tubi and Apple Tv.
