ECHOES OF THE NORTH-SERIES BIBLE
By Ariana Fiorello-Omotosho

GENRE: Historical, Drama
LOGLINE:

After gaining her freedom at the end of the American Revolution, a formerly enslaved woman joins a free Black companion on a journey across the North to recover the untold stories of their people-discovering that legacy must be carried, not inherited, and truth must be spoken before it's lost.

SYNOPSIS:

Echoes of the North is a sweeping historical drama set in the aftermath of the American Revolution, chronicling the emotional and physical journey of two Black women—Amina, recently freed from enslavement, and Harriet, born free but tethered to a legacy of loss. United by a shared purpose to preserve the erased histories of Black Americans, they travel town to town across New England and beyond, collecting oral stories, testimonies, and silenced truths.

Through a hybrid of episodic and serialized storytelling, each episode introduces real historical figures—enslaved and free, forgotten and celebrated—grounding the series in archival fact while deepening personal arcs. From courtrooms where freedom is won, to churches where resistance is nurtured, Amina and Harriet navigate the contradictions of liberty in a nation still steeped in bondage.

Spanning decades from the 1780s through the 1820s, the series explores themes of memory, freedom, legacy, and generational voice. As the women age and pass the torch to a younger storyteller named Clara, Echoes of the North becomes more than a collection of episodes—it becomes a living archive, where Black history is not just remembered, but reclaimed.
