When a British politician’s illicit diamond deal goes wrong in West Africa, he is pulled into a deadly game of chess involving a Liberian coup, a vengeful Interior Minister, and an American merchant who learns that in this world, some debts are paid in blood.
SYNOPSIS:
The story opens in the heat of a Liberian conflict where paramilitaries battle government forces using advanced drone technology. Gerald Carter, a distinguished British politician, uses his yacht as a base to provide cover for Daniel, an indigenous "digger" who steals rough diamonds from a local mine.
The theft catches the eye of Zuma, the Ivory Coast’s Interior Minister, who discovers Carter’s involvement after a General witnesses Carter sniping his soldiers to facilitate the escape. As Carter returns to London with what he believes are high-value stones, he discovers he has been duped with fakes by his Afrikan middleman, Alfonse.
In a web of shifting loyalties, Zuma blackmails an American diamond merchant, Alex Raynor, into assassinating Carter in London in exchange for his daughter’s hand in marriage. The screenplay culminates in a series of ruthless double-crosses where no one—not the politician, the merchant, nor the digger—is truly safe from Zuma’s reach.
