Two traffic cops treat their night shift like a game of snooker—until a high-speed pursuit reveals a devastating personal price for the points they’ve been scoring.
SYNOPSIS:
Two traffic cops out on a night shift invent a game of snooker by awarding themselves a number of points, due to the colour of the car they stop and issue a ticket. The number of points is based upon the game of snooker. However, whilst on a shift together they are prompted to intervene a speeding motorist. The pursuit ends in tragedy for both snooker loving response traffic officers when they are faced with the carnage of a road traffic accident.

John Stone John, this is a simple but effective concept with a strong metaphor at its core. The idea of turning routine police work into a “game,” only for reality to hit with serious consequences, is compelling and thematically clear. The contrast between playfulness and tragedy gives the story a solid emotional hook.
The logline works well in its brevity, though it could hint a bit more specifically at the nature of the “devastating personal price” to increase impact.
The synopsis is clear and easy to follow, but feels more like a setup than a full story progression. Expanding slightly on the aftermath of the incident and how it affects the characters emotionally or morally would strengthen the narrative weight.
Overall, a grounded and meaningful concept with a strong central idea that could resonate more deeply with a bit more specificity and emotional development.
