Many years ago, I created little book trailers for my book series 'The Lolly Shop'. I know these are very basic but I'm still very proud at all the effort my children and I went to, to get our story out there. This promo explains the second book in the series - the magic comes from another world.
This is my eldest starring in this short for our book. He thought of this himself. We had so much fun being involved as a family and getting this story out there.
When my boys and I decided to write, illustrate, and publish our family bedtime story, we thought - why not make our own ads as well! This was our first attempt as a family. 'The Lolly Shop' - a book about a magical candy store. What could possibly go wrong?!?!
When I first started out I made a few homemade ads to promote my books - this was back in 2021. I've come a long way since!
This was a home made ad I made to promote our family bedtime story 'The Lolly Shop'
Ahhhh, what do I get up to when I can't sleep? A little script tease. I had a bad case of writers block and this was the result! I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look at how my projects are created. Not revealing too much, but just enough for you all to see how it all looks when I create a script. Hence the 'script tease'. Thanks for watching! #scripttease #writerslife #behindthescenes #storyinthemaking #amwriting #writersblock
My first short 'proof of concept' for my screenplay 'Land Angels' An angel is silent. An angel can read your energy. An angel can heal your soul. An angel is faithful and belonging. Our Earth has Land Angels. They are dogs. LAND ANGELS (based on true events) has currently collected two international screenplay awards. The original short story is still available on Kindle to read.
This was created by an illustrator in Australia - Kim De Haan - to help promote my books. The Lolly Shop script recently progressed to the quart-finals with the New Voices in Animation Screenwriting contest. I'm hoping to share snippets of my journey for the community to see. I hope you enjoy this book trailer!
From what started as a way of putting my children to bed when they were small has now turned into a story that potentially could be a feature film. The most exciting news is to hear our script reached the QUARTER FINALS in the New Voices of Animation Screenwriting Competition! Thank you Stage 32 and thank you to those who read the script and saw its potential.
