Hi! I’m Diane, a freelance writer/editor and a newly-minted script reader/analyst.
I’ve just completed the Hollywood Gatekeepers’ Screenreader course on how to analyze screenplays and write coverage reports. While I can apply these new skills in writing coverage for producers (or directors, actors, whoever else asks), I'd really like to work with screenwriters to help them get their scripts polished up and ready for submission or whatever comes next – especially if gatekeepers are involved.
I'm an avid reader and have always been a good writer, editor and proofreader. Combining those skills with script reading feels like a natural progression – and a lot more fun!
My career path has been rather untraditional and I’ve worn many hats over the years: technical/scientific writer, copywriter/editor, instructional designer, parachute packer, food blogger and more. Hobbies past and present include cooking, golfing, gardening, swing dancing, skydiving and travel.
I’ve been hanging out in the Stage32 Coverage Report for over a year helping writers with loglines, synopses and scripts. Now that I've completed my coverage training I’m exploring my options. Stay tuned as I figure out my next steps!
