Jean Heathen

Jean Heathen (aka: Jo Anna Heckman) started her dance/acting career at age 7 with Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, & Acting classes. She also had musical theatre and singing training, being the youngest member of, “The Lincoln Light Opera Co.”, at age 14. She had starring roles in many musicals, such as, “The Music Man”, “The Mikado”, “The Sound of Music”, etc. After graduation, she became a Ballroom Dance Instructor, getting her teaching degrees with FANDA (Fred Astaire National Dance Association),and became a National Champion, traveling to many countries. She taught the Ballroom classes at UNLV, then was a Judge at The Dancesport Olympics. Jean went on to choreograph Music Videos, Martial Arts fights for film, and 9 Dance Shows. She began acting in films such as, “Showgirls”, “Get Shorty”, and got her SAG/AFTRA card on, “Casino”. Working on many commercials, modeling, television, plays, musicals, and films has been one exciting adventure after another. Besides acting, Jean has been the Wardrobe/Costume Designer on many Indie Films, winning a costume award for, “Son of Sheba”, at The International Independent Film Awards. She even built a Bigfoot for, “Drone Down”, and most recently she was the Costume Designer for, “Space Wars: Quest For The Deepstar”, as well as playing, “Janice”, in this fun film, which is in selected theaters now in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. She has started writing to produce/direct her own films this year.
