GOD'S SECRETARY

GOD'S SECRETARY
By Aleksandr Rozhnov

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

When a disorganized atheist secretary dies in a freak accident, she’s stunned to find herself face-to-face with God who, burned out and frustrated, leaves her in charge of the universe for a month. But as chaos erupts on Earth and Heaven’s politics boil over, she must learn what it truly means to create balance — or face eternal damnation.

PS. In this film I imagine Margot Robbie as Scarlet, Dwayne Johnson as God, and Eddie Murphy as the Devil.

SYNOPSIS:

Scarlet is a mess. Her job at a publishing house is hanging by a thread, her personal life is nonexistent, and she’s terrified of just about everything from her boss to starting fresh. The only things keeping her afloat are reruns of Tom & Jerry and her loud, lovable friend Margot. Oh, and she’s a devout atheist.

But when a car accident sends her soul spiraling into the afterlife, she comes face-to-face with the divine. God, exhausted and fed up with human complaints, snaps and appoints Scarlet as acting God for one month, while He takes a long-overdue vacation... with the Devil.

Thrown into a realm of angels, prophets, and cosmic bureaucracy, Scarlet is paralyzed with fear. Her attempt to lay low backfires horribly: natural disasters, senseless wars, and inexplicable chaos break out across the globe. Heaven’s ambitious executive assistant Laura sees Scarlet’s failure as her opportunity to rise — and does everything in her power to sabotage her.

Enter Lawrence a by-the-book angel assigned to "supervise" Scarlet. Against orders and eventually against his own will, he begins to believe in her. Together, they embark on a seven-day journey to recreate balance on Earth, mirroring the original creation of the world. But time is running out, Laura is pulling strings from the shadows, and God is... drunk on a beach, delayed by a mischievous Apostle.

In a final trial of faith and creativity, Scarlet must confront her fears, assert her will, and discover that even the most flawed human can channel something divine.

She returns to life not as the old Scarlet, but a braver, wiser version of herself. And as one final act of grace, God sends Lawrence to Earth… not as her guardian, but as her chance at love. As for Laura? She gets reincarnated. As a monkey.

Tone: Bruce Almighty meets Good Omens, with a touch of The Good Place. Whimsical, heartfelt, satirical.
