Friends, I offer to your attention a synopsis for the screen adaptation of one of my favorite authors, Theodore Dreiser. I still don't understand why his trilogy The Financier, The Titan, and The Stoic has not yet been adapted. Although they truly deserve it. Write your thoughts, what do you think about this.
In 19th century Philadelphia, an ambitious financier navigates ruthless business and personal entanglements, only to face downfall and imprisonment, revealing the relentless struggle between pragmatism and humanity in a harsh world.
SYNOPSIS:
Frank Cowperwood is an ambitious and ruthless financier from Philadelphia who strives to conquer the world of business and power. His path is filled with risks, intrigues, and tough decisions that lead him to the pinnacle of a financial empire.
In his personal life, Frank forms a relationship with the daughter of Butler an influential politician, which creates additional pressure and conflicts, as this connection intertwines with his business ambitions and calls his position in society into question.
Frank could have remained steadfast if he lived among people like himself, where pragmatism prevails over humanity. But in the real world, most choose humanity, and this leads to his downfall. Accused of fraud, he ends up in prison, where he must face the consequences of his decisions.
Despite the defeat, Frank does not give up his spirit remains steadfast, and the story becomes a testimony of the struggle between pragmatism and humanity in the harsh world of the early 20th century in Philadelphia.
