A plane carrying British schoolboys is attacked in the middle of an air war and crash lands on a deserted island.
SYNOPSIS:
This adaptation of the classic novel by William Golding expands on the events leading up to the island. It begins with a twelve year old boy named Ralph Aubrant, the son of a navy commander who wants to see the world outside his home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. But he ends up getting more than what he bargained for when his home is thrust into World War III and he and his schoolmates are evacuated via commercial airliner to Sydney, Australia. Also on the plane are Peterkin Edwards, a pudgy boy in glasses and an all boy’s choir.
As the plane approaches Australia however, it ends up in the middle of an air battle and an enemy plane, mistaking the airliner for an allied bomber, shoots the airliner down. The plane’s passenger tube crashes into the jungle of a deserted island….
And the rest is history.
