Get ready to travel, taste, and toss out everything you thought you knew about wine.
This is Wines Uncharted.
Let’s uncork the untold.
Host:
Hi, I’m Amanda Laden — your wine guide with grit, heart, and a passport full of vineyard stamps. I didn’t grow up swirling Bordeaux in a château. I grew up in Iowa, where wine was something you maybe brought to Thanksgiving.
A grad school wine class changed everything. One compliment about my palate (which I thought was palette) led me to London, WSET training, and a career in the global wine trade. I’ve sold wine to Gordon Ramsay, tasted vintages I couldn’t afford, and chased stories across cellars, hillsides, and backroads.
Wines Uncharted is my love letter to the people and places the wine world overlooks — bold winemakers, underdog regions, and cultures where every bottle tells a story.
Let’s uncork the unexpected.
Target audience:
Over 75% of adults in the U.S. drink wine… but most still think Pinot Noir is a person and that “terroir” is a fancy new spa treatment.
The truth? Winemakers are farmers. Artists. Storytellers. And every bottle they produce carries the soul of their land, their struggle, and their community. But most people have no idea what’s actually in their glass — the soil, the climate, the culture, or the incredible food that comes with it.
Wines Uncharted is here to change that — with grit, laughter, and a splash of irreverence. This series is made for curious drinkers and adventurous solo travelers (especially the women booking plane tickets instead of waiting for someone to go with). It’s a passport to places you didn’t know made wine — and people you’ll wish you could toast in person.
Because it’s not just about what you’re drinking. It’s about where it came from, who made it, and how we can support those communities — one glorious, unpretentious sip at a time.
