BIO:     Joel Cousins is a lone-wolf, oil refinery inspector from eastern Canada and lives in camps or motels across the country most of the year, amongst oddball, blue-collar, trades workers, working oil refinery and nuclear plant shutdowns. The on-the-road isolation allows him to capture this warped lifestyle - the hilarity, the sadness, and the dangers, of a world not yet depicted in film, in this manner.

He built his writing skills via online forums such as Roadmap Writers, Stage 32, videos, books, reading scripts,  executing notes, and... - being a STUBBORN (although funny, in a hit/miss sort of way) prick, the likes you've never seen before.

Joel has been vetted, backed by Buffalo 8 for his dramedy feature - SHUTDOWN, with the Butler Brothers (Toronto) attached to direct.  He has stretched his linear style with a feature length, Christmas comedy, THE CAMPERS, incorporating fantastical elements to his narrative.  Both writings capture the realisms of travelling, eccentric trades workers pursuing quests.

Joel has been characterized as slightly unconventional by some, or a full-bore crazy bastard by others, which makes him perfectly qualified to share this untapped oil refinery world, and its massive market of lunatic trades workers, to the global film audience.  He keeps it real.

This under rep'd target audience, as it pertains to film, is his specialty.  He didn't start writing for money.  That said, this extensive, global market is relatively unexploited, in a genuine way, ready to be fulfilled.
