About John

John Norton is an award winning and established TV and Film producer with Straywave Media based in Dublin.
He began his career in film in LA in 1998 as a casting director. Since then he has gone on to produce multi-award winning short films and was nominated for an IFTA award.

John has also produced some of the best known TV shows in Ireland.

During his career John has also been a consistent pioneer in his field. John was the 1st producer to shoot a feature film entirely on Digital format in Ireland, when he produced The Ritual in 2000 at Ardmore Studios. He was also one of the 1st TV producers to fully embrace the role of new media as a marketing tool for TV shows when he launched the 1st app to accompany a TV show when he launched the 1st companion app and engaged in a comprehensive social media marketing plan for the TV series Fade Street in 2010 when social media campaigns were unheard of for promoting TV show and few had heard of twitter.

John is a graduate of The Media Business School in Rhonda, Spain, as well as the prestigious European Audiovisual Entrepreneur program (EAVE).
