Gathering all the thoughts, writings, timeline, etc., of a true story. The movie will be based on this true story, but the names and places will be changed as to protect people from harm. I am in touch with some film professionals and others who I will get guidance from. I'm also trying to enlist the help of some locals at the Maine Media Workshop/College. I'm trying to get the story completed so that others may take a look at it. It will be protected by the copyright laws in this country under 'preregistration' as long as it's a working copy. The story is about suicide/murder and strange behaviors of law enforcement and medical documentation that is inconsistent. A girl that goes on an adventure to the end of the Earth, and falls off. Like I mentioned, this is a true story and I have official paperwork and other items that document it. Once the story is written and protected, anyone with interest may request a copy. I am looking for input on how to proceed. Thank you.
Now also in contact with someone who has written a book on the other end of this story. Someone who was convicted of a crime that is thought to be wrongly punished for, and the corruption that follows. Also a true story. I want to find the other side, someone who should have been punished for crimes they have committed, but law enforcement covers up. They say this person is protected (for some reason) at the Federal level. How DOES one "fight City Hall"?
This is NOT the project I have listed on my page, but another one. A much bigger one.
May have found the key subject for the main role. She is the right age, hair color - but has no acting experience. Does that mean she can be molded? Thoughts anyone? She is really interesting in playing this role and would not need much of a speaking part anyway.
This project, prior filming, etc., are now all dead. Lots (hours) of footage is being put into the vault. valiant effort, ran out of funds. C'est la vie.

Since it's a true story, first thing is to get your script cleared for potential legal problems. I would use indieclear.com. You also need this script clearance report in order to get E&O insurance for the film down the line. I get script clearance first on all my projects no matter big or small, true or fiction.
