Introduce Yourself : HEY Y'ALL STAGE 32'ers! by Tucker Teague

HEY Y'ALL STAGE 32'ers!

Howdy everyone! I’ve been here on Stage 32 since January 2024. I already wrote a lot (probably too much) about myself in my bio. Feel free to check it out. But a little more for this Introduction Weekend…

I’ve been working on screenwriting to improve my storytelling skills and, hopefully, get back into filmmaking. I never studied screenwriting back in the day and tended to direct without a script. I always knew this was a major deficiency on my part, though I did manage to win some awards for my short films. Needless to say, screenwriting is a challenge, but I love it. Lately, screenwriting for me has been an avenue to explore the Jungian concept of the Shadow. Fascinating stuff.

Oh… and recently I became a Lounge Moderator here at Stage 32. I’m excited about encouraging great conversations and positive relationships on Stage 32. I wish you all the best professionally and personally.

Howdy, Tucker Teague. Hope you're enjoying the weekend! Congratulations on the short film awards? What genres do you plan on directing when you get back into filmmaking?

Maurice Vaughan I am enjoying the weekend, but... it's both prom weekend (my daughter is going) and Easter weekend (and I'm doing all the cooking), so a lot going on. As for genres, well, I've tended to write more moody, existential stories. However, when I look back years ago most of my stuff was comedy. I've been wondering if I could write a comedy again. Regardless, I tend toward stories that, in one way or another, have some meaningful depth to them.

I love watching Comedy, Tucker Teague. I'm looking forward to seeing your films! Hope you're able to relax some this weekend.
