Screenwriters & Creatives – Let’s Connect!

Hey everyone!

My name is Ryan Wilford, and I’ve been part of this amazing community for a little while now. I’m a Chicago-born creative currently living in Los Angeles, and I’m diving headfirst into the screenwriting world.

I recently completed my first screenplay, CONFIDENCE, and I’m currently working through my first rewrite (we all know how that process goes!). The version I’ve uploaded here isn’t the most updated draft, but the core story and energy are still very much intact—feel free to check it out if you're curious!

I’m here to connect with fellow writers, but I’m also open to meeting other like-minded creatives and industry professionals. Whether you’re just getting started, deep into revisions, or juggling multiple projects, I’d love to swap ideas, share stories, and just be part of each other’s creative journeys.

If you’re in LA, I’d love to meet up over tea, drinks, or just a good creative convo in person. If not, I’m always down for virtual meetups and collaborations. Having a creative community is everything—especially in an industry that can feel overwhelming at times.

Also, I just registered for Richard Botto’s live webcast on the 23rd—it’s a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect, so definitely check it out if you haven’t already!

Drop a comment or DM if you’d like to connect. Looking forward to growing together!

Ryan Wilford Great to connect! is there anything about your journey that you think is worth sharing with writers who are considering making the move to LA? Any pros and cons? Great to hear you’ll be attending RB’s AMA. So much to learn!

Jill Godley

You are in the right place. Welcome to Stage 32.

Geoffroy Faugerolas Hey Geoffroy! Great question—thank you for asking.

Honestly, I’d say no matter what, get to know yourself. Know who you are and why you want to create and write stories in the first place. Find that deeper connection within yourself, because it’ll make the stories you tell feel way more authentic and real. That inner work is what fueled my first script and continues to shape how I create.

When I first moved to LA (just under 4 years ago), I spent most of my time just writing. I was deep into working on my first script before I even discovered platforms like this and started trying to network. So, this phase of my journey—connecting with other creatives—is still fresh. If I could offer anything, it’d be this: build that network earlier if you can. There’s something really powerful about being in community with other people on similar paths.

As far as pros and cons—I don’t know if I’d label anything too specifically. Every journey is different, and even the so-called cons usually turn into growth, lessons, or new perspectives. I don’t really have any cons at the moment because I’ve just been trusting my intuition through all of this. Now I’m in the space of sharing, connecting, and growing.

The biggest pro? You're in the city where things can happen. There’s opportunity everywhere if you’re open and intentional. Utilize that. Tap into the energy here. Network, create, collaborate. I’m just now really starting to put myself out there too, so if you're thinking about the move—trust yourself and go for it.
