Assareto: A 17th-century ghost who defies the afterlife for love by Lucina Cuccio

Hello everyone, I'm Lucina Cuccio, an Italian author, artist and playwright. I’ve just joined Stage32 and I’m excited to connect with creatives from around the world.

I created the ghost saga Assareto and the Wax Mirrors, a published and translated trilogy based on a real 17th-century figure I discovered in a 1914 book. The story blends mystery, romance and supernatural themes, following Assareto, a ghost who dares to defy the laws of the afterlife for love.

Set in the magical forests and castles of Northern Italy, the story was also adapted for the stage and performed in historic locations. I’m now looking to bring Assareto’s journey to the screen, and I’d love to connect with producers, screenwriters and anyone passionate about timeless, emotional, and atmospheric storytelling.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to discovering your stories too.

Assareto and the Wax Mirrors sounds interesting. You could make a post on the Job Board for a screenwriter to adapt your trilogy (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

Hi Lucina! I’m Ashley, Head of Community here at Stage 32. Welcome! Your work sounds absolutely enchanting. Assareto and the Wax Mirrors blends so many rich elements—history, romance, the supernatural—and setting it against the backdrop of Northern Italy’s forests and castles makes it even more cinematic. I can only imagine how beautifully it played on stage in historic venues!

Bringing Assareto’s journey to the screen feels like a natural next step, and you’re in the right place to start that process. I recommend joining the conversations in both the Screenwriting Lounge and the Producing Lounge to connect with creatives who may share your passion for atmospheric, emotional storytelling:

Producing: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing

You might also consider reaching out to our Success Team at Success@Stage32.com—they can guide you to resources, executives, or services that can help you adapt and elevate your project for the screen.

So glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to see how your story continues to unfold!
