Introduce Yourself : Under Chad's Spell by Michael Varga

Under Chad's Spell

My name is Michael Varga. I am a retired diplomat and writer. My screenplay is now complete based on my published novel, Under Chad's Spell. Looking to connect with others with an interest in Africa. The screenplay follows a group of young American Peace Corps Volunteers in Chad in the 1970s when a civil war breaks out and everyone's life is under threat. There's the "newness" of a story set in Chad ( a location unknown to most Americans), a romance among young lovers, and the violence that comes with war.

This sounds like a winner! I've lived and filmed in SA and it's very beautiful and complicated . Chad sounds great

Hello Michael Vargas, thanks for connecting. I also have an African based screenplay about a boy soldier who eventually escaped his captor, flees to the US and becomes a champion fighter. We should trade reads.

Michael Varga

That's great that you share an interest in Africa and are writing about it. It doesn''t receive enough attention and there are so many great tales that could only take place on that continent. Yes, let's figure out a way for us to share our work.
