The Journey of a Woman from Northern Iraq… From Pain to Hope

I am Haliz Mustafa — a writer, a woman, and a mother of three children.

My daughter Joori, my little angel, was born with Down syndrome, and she became the heart of a story that changed my life completely.

Life has never been easy for me…

I was born in a society bound by traditions, where a woman’s voice is often silenced, and where ambition is considered a privilege she is not allowed to have.

For many years, I searched for myself amidst pain, struggle, and a society that offered me nothing but limitations.

But I chose to break those chains…

My daughter’s journey through hospitals between Iraq, Turkey, and dubai was the hardest test of my life.

The long nights in hospital corridors, the looks of pity, the closed doors, and the crushing loneliness followed me everywhere…

Yet, in the middle of that suffering, I discovered something I had never known about myself — my true strength.

Joori was not just my daughter; she became my message to the world.

She taught me that being different is a gift, not a burden.

I dedicated myself to learning everything about Down syndrome — reading, studying, and helping other mothers who shared the same journey.

But my story doesn’t end here…

Despite all the challenges,

Despite all the judgment,

Despite being a woman in a society that tries to bury women’s dreams,

I built myself from nothing.

I launched my own online store “Joori Boutique,”

I trained young people on how to start businesses without capital,

I supported families in need silently, without waiting for recognition or applause.

I wrote my book “Joori” not just to tell my story, but to give a voice to every woman who feels trapped by society…

To every mother who sees her special child as a burden instead of a blessing.

But this is only the beginning…

I believe my story needs to reach the world.

Not because it’s mine, but because it represents every woman who rises from the ashes and builds herself from nothing.

Now, I am looking for the opportunity to turn my book into a global movie — not to seek fame, but to touch hearts and give hope to those who feel alone in their struggles.

There is no pain greater than feeling unseen…

And no hope stronger than knowing you are not alone.

I am searching for a producer who believes that miracles are born from pain.

I am searching for a platform that will help me share this message with the world.

If you know the way…

If you can be part of this journey…

Help me be the voice of every silent woman, and the heart of every mother fighting in silence.

I will be forever grateful for any advice, support, or guidance that helps me tell the world:

Yes… a woman from Northern Iraq can achieve the impossible.
