The Allies lost over 6 million men during the First World War; the Central Powers lost 4 million. Of those, over 700,000 Allied soldiers were buried in ‘unknown’ graves. Over 620,000 for the Central Powers. That’s an ‘official’ total of over 1,320,000 men – there were many more!
