Hello All. I just wanted to share that when it comes to this business you really have to be very picky about your representation and who you choose to guide your career. I was living in Los Angeles and working as an actor with some success but had to juggle work-day life as a legal secretary and my chosen career as an actor. I was introduced to my management team Jackie DesChamps of MMPR Group in August of 2006 and gave her a test. There was a project I wanted to get on but couldn't get in the audition door. Within 24 hours Jackie landed me the audition. We signed an agreement that day. It was the top of the real estate bubble in LA and I had the opportunity to sell my home and work full-time as an actor. My boss at the time was becoming more reluctant to let me off for auditions. However after selling my home, I ended up heading to Austin, Texas with the idea of some day returning to LA. Explaining the situation, Jackie believed in me and continued to represent me. As soon as our union merged in 2013, she became one of the first SAG-AFTRA managers. And with virtual auditions becoming the norm, she landed me an audition and I booked the role of Marc Lee's mom in American Sniper directed by Clint Eastwood in 2014. And guess what I just received my first residual check! Whoo hoo! Just saying....
