The story line in Episode 5 is that Bruce came home from the Memphis Blues Challenge, somewhere between third and 11th place. But, of course, he's the best guitarist in Concord, and that's all we care about. So, it was good to have him back. Around this time, people were beginning to notice something special happening around the open mike. Some people stopped their drinking habits; others, their headaches and body aches would go away just by enjoying the show! Some people would come in feeling under the weather with a minor cold or flu, and then feel perfectly fine by the end of the night. People were starting to realize that there was a feeling of love here that was very unique to this venue, that could not be found anywhere else. CBS and NBC executives would often drop by, unknown to most people, and were always refreshed by the magical 70's atmosphere and free Spirit of the place. Something very special was beginning to brew amongst the regular performers, a camaraderie of community unequalled at other places.
