- Art Director: Chip Street The Irish-willed eighty-year-old Bonnie Ash Fitzpatrick (LOUISE FLETCHER) and her only friend in life, the seventy-year old Celine Snow (CICELY TYSON) disagree on just about everything. But When Bonnie's long lost great niece schemes to trick them out of the house, these two old friends agree on a plan. Niece Christine wants to change great Aunt Bonnie's life by moving her into an elderly care facility and taking control of her spectacular Victorian home. Using Bonnie's wacko boarders (the colorful "Fat Rose" and the insane "Squeaky") as examples of Bonnie's inability to safely care for herself, Christine's plan appears to be working. But fate steps in and the friendship between Bonnie and Celine proves stronger than Christine's greed. Fat Rose and Squeaky is an unusual movie that deals with the humor, dignity, battles, and friendships of aging. In life, wealth is sometimes measured in friends, freedoms, and the simple pleasures of a tofu casserole!
