I needed his Australian trip more than anybody knew and it was so difficult to say goodbye. I'm grateful for the opportunity I was given to hug my children and hold my first grandchild. I also realised, being back in Australia, how the final immigration decision at Ministerial intervention - tearing a mother away from her children (who were still so young) had repercussions far greater than I knew, and I'm proud of how strong and resilient my kids are. I don't think we'll ever get answers, or the truth of what went so horribly wrong...Time to let this fight go and focus on moving forward in a new way. If you have been afforded the human right to be with your children, don't take a moment for granted. Hold them close and let them know that they are the greatest gift in life, and everything to you.
