Here is a first teaser for my short film project called ‘Ana wyek’. The phrase ‘Ana wyek’ comes from Arabic and means ‘Me and you’. It is often used to say ‘together’ or to express unity and complicity between two people. Here's the pitch: This is the story of Saïm and his daughter Samara, who move to France from Algeria after the death of Laïla, Saïm's wife and Samara's mother. Fourteen years later, father and daughter are struggling to integrate into the city of Nantes and their relationship is difficult. While things are gradually moving in the right direction for Samara, for Saïm it is more complicated. He will have to find a path within himself to give meaning to his life again.
