My very first Audiobook audition for Learning Ally, a non-profit that provides free audiobooks for children with visual deficits and dyslexia. I was selected for Q&A: A Novel by Vikas Swarup, which was adapted into the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. I pride myself on this project for two reasons. One, it was a volunteer opportunity, as it was meant for children with dyslexia, which motivated me further to give it my all in this 11-hour project, despite being unemployed at the time. And two, this was my very first attempt at voice acting/narration and I (don't mean to brag) nailed it. The program manager was blown away and sent me a long email expressing his praise for the audition. That felt very encouraging and ever since then, Voice Acting has been something I began pursuing with heart.
