SHIELDS, CPA, MBA, SAG-AFTRA MEMBER NATIONAL SECRETARY-TREASURER The Office of National Secretary-Treasurer requires strong leadership skills and knowledge of economics, finance and accounting to steer SAG-AFTRA towards sound financial decisions, reporting and stability. Economic uncertainty is stronger today than at any other time in the Union's financial history. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New York and MBA from Columbia Business School, I have traveled the road of financial management, investment, accounting and reporting working for The World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), JPMorgan Chase and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) where I have earned the respect and developed the financial acumen, integrity and management skills needed to help guide SAG-AFTRA through the turbulent roads ahead. PRESIDENT NEW YORK LOCAL/VICE PRESIDENT NEW YORK LOCAL, NATIONAL & LOCAL BOARD MEMBER, DELEGATE We are living in tumultuous changing times. The past five years witnessed the upheaval of social structures and Union protocols in ways never imagined. From wars abroad to shake-ups at home, nothing remains the same. SAG-AFTRA needs new leadership to take on the challenges that confront us. Union members are challenged in many areas and aspects of their professional lives. Working together we can bring about the changes that are needed. The strength of the Union lies in collective bargaining, yet this simple principle of social cohesion often fails to meet member expectations.
