Set in the mid 1800’s, THE WILD ONE is a short survival film telling the incredible true story of James Morrill, a shipwrecked British sailor who is saved by the Birri Gubba, an Indigenous tribe of the Bindal Nation (in Far North Queensland). Miraculously surviving 42 days on a raft, the Birri Gubba people nurse James back to health, and he lives with them for 17 years. White settlers begin encroaching on the tribe’s land and James is forced to decide between his Indigenous family, and the people he once called his own.
