Sant Joan (in Catalan — San Juan in Spanish) is summer solstice night in Spain. An evening of fireworks, parties, nighttime swimming, dancing and merriment until the sun rises. Dimple and I went down to Barceloneta beach to check out the fireworks and came across a wonderful sight. A bunch of drummers and percussionists were playing near the beach, surrounded by loads of people. People from all over the world, dancing, laughing and welcoming in the summer. Days like this make me truly appreciate how far we’ve come in our sense of unity, and hopefully, offers a glimpse of how far we’ll go.
