Ashton Kutcher he’s not, but there’s something Jon Watkins has that Ashton does not. A 5’9″ frame. Born in Long Beach, California, Jon’s goal in life is to be on the same Wikipedia page as other famous Long Beach alumnus, such as Snoop Dogg, Cameron Diaz and his friend Mike Luedy (who somehow got his name on that Wikipedia page). Thanks to a suggestion by his college girlfriend (now wife and mother to his son!), Jon took an internship at KZLA, in Los Angeles for The Peter Tilden Morning Show with Buzz. From there, the glamor of showbiz sent Jon to Wichita, KS to co-host mornings with Dan Tooker on KFDI. Dan, Jon and Colby Ericson were honored with a Country Music Award for Best Morning Show. From LA, to KS, Jon and his wife moved to Utah for radio once again. This time, for The Eagle, Utah’s Fresh Country. And Utah has been good to them both! Jon and his morning partner Keith Stubbs have not only won the Utah Broadcasters Award for Best Morning Show for the past three years, but the two now have a show on SiriusXM and a podcast (www.stubbscast.com). Jon also moved from radio to TV, hosting episodes for Park City Television, Adventure TV, EnLine Entertainment and BYUtv. What’s next? Who know’s?
