I am so excited to teach this lab once again! I am actually pitching two historical fiction projects that I developed with Stage 32 writers I met in labs. Please let me know if you have any questions about the lab. I am looking forward to stepping into all the worlds brought to life in these labs.

I have no plan to participate, but one question. Do you explain for the participants how to find a mentor? Because help from a mentor greatly increases the probability for success.

I think the idea is that I’m the mentor, at least for this stretch but I invite all my students to email me with questions even after the lab. I do point out a lot of people who put out free resources (I do too!) whom you can “make” your mentor without asking anything of them. And that you have to give back if you want someone to do things for you. Sometimes by “mentor” writers mean someone who’ll read my scripts and give me feedback out of kindness. I try to be very generous but honestly there’s no such person. Reading and giving notes is a LOT of work and people have to pay their mortgage with paying jobs so they don’t have time to do favors. That goes for me as well as any other professional
