Hey Stage 32 community, I’m excited to share that I’ve just completed the first draft of my screenplay, Rise of Vigil.
It’s a coming-of-age vigilante story about Kevin Quinn, a bullied teenager whose world is shattered when his father — a decorated soldier — is killed. Kevin struggles through grief, humiliation, and betrayal until he finds the courage to rise as Vigil, a new kind of hero for a broken city.
This draft has been a journey for me, and while it’s still rough around the edges, I’m eager to connect with fellow writers, filmmakers, and storytellers who can relate to the highs (and challenges) of finishing that first draft.
Would love to hear your thoughts — whether it’s on character-driven superhero stories, writing teenage protagonists, or just surviving the rewrite process!

Congrats! A 1st draft is a super satisfying first step and, yes, it's a worthy milestone. One of my scripts is character-driven hero script with the main plot being assassins and evil organizations, but the main characters are estranged surrorgate siblings who have to trust each other again. It was mega-fun writing it, and rewriting gets funner as your skills improve since you feel less lost then. My first rewrites were frustrating.
Best Regards.
